Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to common questions about our capabilities, projects, and service.

Service

How fast will someone respond when I call the emergency line outside business hours?

TODO — TC service team to confirm target response times for after-hours emergency calls.

What's covered under a service agreement vs. what's billed hourly?

TODO — cross-reference Service Agreement page once SLA tiers are finalized with ops.

Do you offer retro-commissioning, or only break-fix service?

TODO — confirm retro-commissioning scope with engineering and service leads.

TC System

Do you work with non-JCI equipment, or only Johnson Controls product?

Yes — open-protocol FX and Niagara integrations connect to equipment from multiple manufacturers. JCI certification is our depth on the platform, not a lock-in on every device in the building.

Can you integrate the controls we already have, or does everything have to be ripped out and replaced?

Retrofit projects routinely integrate existing controllers and sub-systems. Rip-and-replace is the exception, not the default.

What's Facility Explorer FX, and why does it matter to me as a building owner?

Facility Explorer FX is Johnson Controls' open building automation platform. It matters because your BMS runs on documented protocols, integrates with mixed equipment, and stays serviceable by qualified integrators — including teams other than the original installer.

Our Approach

When should TC get involved in a new construction project?

As early as design development — before controls scope is frozen. That is when we can align sequences, points lists, and budget with owner expectations.

How do you prevent change orders on controls scope?

Design with the end in mind: full points and sequences defined up front, owner expectations documented, and contingencies built into the baseline scope.

What happens after commissioning?

Our 24/7 service team supports the building on your terms. Open architecture means you keep data and access; we provide live, named engineers when you need them.
